Pointe shoes
Original painting — Anaïs Eck
Everything begins here.
In pressure, in restraint, in silent friction.
The body rises at the cost of contact,
contained pain,
the gesture repeated until effort disappears.
The pointe shoes carry traces of reality:
wear, tension, controlled imbalance.
They reveal what the stage conceals—
rigor, persistence,
fragility held upright.
Here, dance is no longer weightless.
It is grounded.
And from that grounding,
movement becomes possible.
